The ETSON JSP Workshop 2025 brought together young professionals and experts from across Europe to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and discuss key topics in nuclear safety. 

The enrichment, geometry and overall configuration of the gas-cooled ALLEGRO reactor core resulted in an undesirable effect in the form of significant changes in reactivity even with a small movement of the control rods. Consequently, new technical solution with steel half-cylinder device (HCD) was proposed.

VUJE, in cooperation with company EXE, has developed an animated 3D virtual reality model of the VVER 440 nuclear power plant, offering an immersive and realistic view of the primary circuit and safety systems for severe accident training.

In 2023 company VUJE together with Italian company DESPE (as a leader) was awarded by European Commission - Joint Research Centre in Ispra with the Contract for providing Decommissioning services and related supplies for the JRC Decommissioning & Waste Management Programme.

VUJE delivered the severe accident management workplace for Mochovce 1,2 full scope simulator and continues in new simulation model integration.

A unique project was carried out aimed at identifying steam generator tubes with operationally induced defects from the history of each unit. The selected tubes were then extracted, decontaminated, and preserved for future use. This effort was part of the broader decommissioning project for Units 1 and 2 at the Jaslovské Bohunice Nuclear Power Plant in Slovakia.

SafeG Final Workshop took place on 11th of September 2024 in Bratislava and was attended by 43 participants (+ 10 remotely connected). The aim of this event was to present the key results and outcomes of our 4 years effort within the SafeG project to nuclear community and young generation of researchers.

VUJE implemented several changes to the thermohydraulic model, delivered code for severe accident and two new 3rd party systems. 
The aim of the ongoing project is to make the FSS more representative and in line with the real control room.

The plans for a new NPP in Slovakia are manged by the company JESS. The first milestone for reaching this aim is to obtain a siting permit for this new NPP.

The tests at all power level were carried out successfully and the complete functionality of the 3rd unit and the achievement of the project parameters was confirmed by a 144-hour trial run at full power, which will finalize the energy start-up stage.
