Frederic Wheeler, Head of the Regulatory Support Directorate (RSD) at Amentum, has been appointed as the Second Vice President of ETSON for the next three years.

The appointment was announced at the ETSON General Assembly hosted by Hungary’s Centre for Energy Research (EK-CER) at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest.

The Second Vice President comes from the Associate Members of ETSON – owing to the British decision to leave the European Union, British participation in ETSON had to transfer from Full to Associate Membership. In all other ways, RSD fully participates in ETSON and will host this year’s ETSON Conference in Manchester on October 27 and 28.

As well as the election of the ETSON board and internal processes, the General Assembly welcomed Autorité de Sûreté Nucléaire et de Radioprotection (ASNR) as the new French ETSON member following the merger of the Institut de Radioprotection et de Sûreté Nucléaire (IRSN) with the Autorité de Sûreté Nucléaire (ASN) and the formation of ASNR.
